Well, I have been a busy little fashionista lately but I am praising God for all these doors he continues to open for me. I am looking forward to many more opportunities that the Lord has in store and trusting in him fully!
I am amazed and in awe about this journey he is taking me on. Some of it is a bit trying, but that makes me rely on him more. How awesome is our God!
Here is a small recap of what’s been going on at this Southern Fashionista’s house.
I love TJ Maxx. I have found a lot of my summer styles there. This is the outfit I wore to see one of my clients. Check out the prices.
It was raining that day but I didn’t let that slow me down with my style. I added a fun neon green to my black and white pants.
I bought my dress in January at Belk, It is a Cynthia Rowley dress.
The best thing about shopping end of season sales is you can find items like I did with the Cynthia Rowley dress for half the cost. Then you can transition them into the next season, like I did below.
I just paired my bargain dress with a belt I had at home and a gorgeous spring heel. This small change gave my floral Cynthia Rowley dress a springy look.
Fun at the lake
This was my running partner and I am so glad he was. I came across 6 snakes that morning, yikes! I guess that’s what you get with country living.
This Southern stylist doesn’t mind the country but I am still getting use to all the critters that seem to come around.
Ok, back to my styling. Next stop, New Orleans Jazz Fest. I was so excited about seeing our New Orleans friends and their sweet baby girls and spending some much needed down time in my favorite city.
I had to think cool and easy when it came to my wardrobe. Why you ask? Well, it’s just so hot and humid in N’awlins this time of the year and this southern lady can’t stand to sweat! But I love to look cute :)
First stop: The Columns Hotel my all time favorite place in New Orleans.
Not the best pic but my go to romper.
My cool and comfortable Jazz fest outfit, both blouses are from TJ Maxx $14.99. Jean pants and sandals from New York and Company, price forgotten.
I found a friend!
Ok, so one of my fears in life would be public speaking. Who can really say that they enjoy that?
Lately, my wonderful God is allowing me to step out of my box and face my small fear. I know, our God wants us to rely on him all the time!
I am learning to rely on him and trust in him when it comes to opening up these speaking engagement doors. Now, so far I spoke to different groups of women at different age ranges. But, I haven’t had more than 50 yet, so if and when the time comes for me to speak to more than 50 I might be sending a mass email to everyone for prayers!
Praising God for this journey he is taking me on.
I typically talk about how woman can save money on their styles. Simply by taking key pieces of items in their closet and changing them up.
I will also talk about how they need to dress for their body type. I really want to encourage them to love themselves and their bodies. Doing all of this costs little to no money.
This is my model below.
Here is my bargain outfit that I wore the day of the ladies event. Thanks to Katie at Stella and Dot for allowing me to feature her jewelry.
My blouses were from TJ Maxx, clutch from Kohl’s, jewelry from Stella and Dot, Burgundy heels from Ross, fitted black pants Jennifer Lopez from Kohl’s.
I had so much fun! Thanks for including me in on this event Katrina.
And Mother’s Day
I love this little boy, he keeps me on my toes and a smile on my face. What a little blessing he is.
This little fella very rarely takes naps or randomly falls asleep anymore. But, when he does I take every opportunity to love on him. That was a great Mother’s Day gift to have – him in my arms.
Ok, so this is just a small portion of what’s been going with your southern fashionista. Be sure to check out my latest wardrobe makeover sometime next week.
