We all know that floral is back and I could not be happier to embrace this fun and feminine print.
To all you non-floral ladies out there, you too can take this print and love it like it was your own. It’s all about keeping it simple and working it around your personality.
Don’t think of it as stepping out of a spring garden; make it fun and refreshing with soft styles and color balance. It doesn’t matter what size or age you are this is a perfect print for all.
Here are some of my tips when it comes to wearing those fun floral patterns.
Stay Within The Same Color Palettes
Keep bolds on bolds and brights on brights and make sure your colors blend. I love to mix my prints and you can certainly do this with your floral if you stay within the same color palette.
It’s not about the patterns, it’s about the colors! As long as the flower colors “blend”, you can do it!
Also, make sure you balance out the print with a solid. If you wear a solid top, a floral bottom is best and vice versa.
Keep It Simple
Keep your floral simple. Meaning, if you are not a big fan of this style, then keep your outfit simple and pull the floral pattern in with your accessories. (Think purse, scarf or shoes.)
Texture Is Fine
If you really want to wear floral but the bright bold flower is not your cup of tea, then keep the floral design in the texture of the outfit.
This still gives you that floral trend without being too overwhelming.
All Sizes Can Pull Off Floral
If you are plus-sized or have large hips, you too can wear floral. Just make sure the style or the cut of the outfit works for you.
A floral skirt with an A-line cut for example, may look better on you, than a floral pant.
Also, keep the colors dark and prints small.
So ladies, I know we all have some of these floral prints hanging in our closet. Be sure to not over do the floral dresses or prints. You certainly do not want to look like you stepped out of your grandmother’s garden.
Break it up and keep it fun and simple.
Ditch those white dresses with the big fuchsia and red flowers from the 80’s that have been hanging in your closet for years and update your look with the some of the neutral or smaller floral patterns out there now.
Prints are tricky, but so much fun and I would love to help you sort through all the fabulous new choices on the market now! Just send me a message if you want some help.
Floral and a stripe. It’s fun, trendy and paired with a neutral belt and solid bottom it balances out the floral.
In case you are not sure about what textured would look like. Here is an example.
