Leggings are a staple piece for a lot of our wardrobe. They are easy to throw on as well as comfortable and versatile.
I have had a few questions in regards to wearing leggings this winter and I say yes. As long as you keep them trendy and of course they need to fit appropriately.
Leather or Pleather Leggings.
This is a fun and updated way to pull off the trend. I would find a pointed toe heel for a evening look or maybe even a ankle boot/knee boot maybe even a shoe with a print.
I like a black faux leather legging. Faux leather is a little more giving.
For instance, I bought a pair of black leggings from TJ Maxx that are a thick cotton with faux leather stripes on the side of the legging. The stripes make my legs look longer and leaner.
Here are my black leggings. They have a button detail on the back and I dressed them up with a heel and accessorized. This make them more modern and chic.
My faux leather/cotton leggings.
This is the cotton legging that you can find at TJ Maxx and Target. I don’t mind if you throw these on, but be sure to be very careful about how you wear them.
Stay away from those high waisted blouses when you wear any legging, unless you are pregnant.
Try to find a comfortable ankle boot or knee boot to make the legging look a little more classy.
Now, if you are wearing your legging to work out in and then throwing them on for a day of shopping or going out on the night of town, then stop! That’s getting way too comfortable and it’s time to invest in a few more updated styles.
The perfect shoe for comfort and this makes you look leaner and taller with your fitted leggings. Make sure your blouses always hit below your bottom.
Your run of the mill jean leggings. To me these are a wonderful investment.
These can be worn casual or dressed up. They are a thick enough material that every shape can pulls these off.
I love wearing mine with a fun flat, boot or ankle boot during the day or night.
For a dressier evening look, I would throw on a heel with a simple tee, clutch, jewelry and maybe my favorite blazer or jacket/cape. Jeggings are the perfect go to legging.
Be sure you tone down the print with layers and more solid colors.
Example: tall boots, solid color or neutral color heel, neutral or solid printed blouse.
Make sure the print is big enough so it doesn’t focus on the your problem areas or make you look like you have problem areas, LOL!
Basically, the key to wearing leggings is modernizing them. Staying on top of the latest trends helps keep these comfortable and versatile staple pieces in your style longer.
