I recently have had an opportunity to work with Lisa and Darren of Pop Photography. They have allowed me to come in and be the stylist for their photo shoots.
I felt so honored to do this! Working with Lisa, Darren and all of their talented models has been a fun and exciting blessing.
I was talking to one of the models and she was asking me if I went to school to style. It’s so funny when people used to ask me this question I would almost get down and tuck my head under like I was ashamed for not attending school to further my God given gift.
I have now learned that God wants us to focus on our dreams in a different ways. He doesn’t expect us to go to a special school to live our dreams and he also doesn’t put pressure on us when it comes to being passionate about what we love.
I post many a selfie pics on Twitter, Instagram and my Facebook page all in the name of Centsibly Southern Chic. Some may laugh, some may hate it (then delete my friend request) and some might just get a good laugh out of it. Either way, I’m trying.
I’m trying hard to branch out and be passionate about the love I have of styling. Silly to some, but possibly a love for others.
I have learned to accept that what I love to do is ultimately God’s journey, and I have been prayerfully following it for years. It’s his plan and his idea for me and I just pray everyday when it comes to this journey that I’m on that this dream can someday be a reality.
Thanks to Lisa, Darren and the sweet models at Pop Photography my little dream is now big to me. Perseverance, prayer and love for what you do can make any little dream big ladies.
We all have dreams, but are often fearful about voicing them, fearful even about thinking about them.
Perhaps deep down, sometimes we may think we are just way too old, not one to stand out like others, never had the opportunity to live the dream, or maybe now that you have a family my responsibilities are a lot different.
I mean really who has time to think about this southern styling dream, right? Well, in all reality, dreaming is not going to keep you from loving what you do.
Dreaming is our way of pushing through what we can do. I can personally attest to that.
Don’t ever question your worth. As long as you are doing what you love to do, allowing those dreams or gifts that God gives you, continue to work hard and enjoy the little moments in life that help guide your dreams.
Pray and know that God has big plans for you. Understand he knows the direction he wants you to go in your life.
Be faithful and prayerful. Besides who are we anyway to dream such glorious dreams? We are God’s children that’s who we are and he truly wants wonderful things for us.
Enjoy those small dreams even if they aren’t as big as you would like right now. Let’s allow ourselves to dream.
Thanks again to everyone at Pop Photography. I look forward to working with you in the near future!
