Okay, Centsibly Southern family. Repeat after me. “Just say NO to Mom jeans.”
Now, say it with conviction… “Just say NO to Mom jeans!”
And one more time for good measure, I’ll leave my plea with you, “PLEASE say no to Mom jeans.” (*wink)
We just don’t have to go there, ladies. You are beautiful and there are clothes out there that will recognize that God-given beauty and shape that you have.
Mom jeans are not the ticket to that happy place. I promise.
Ok-I had to post this because I think it’s so funny!
NBC Saturday Night Live – Mom Jeans
Scarlett Johanson is gorgeous, but not these mommy jeans.
OK, now this is more like it Nicole. You want to keep it simple and fitted to your body shape. No high-waisted Pants!!Unless it has a flair at the bottom to give a definition.
Now this is a style that anyone can pull off!
Below I’ve listed a few more items to kick out of your closet/shopping bags along with fantastic substitutes that will make your look complete.
Square toe shoes – we no longer need these. Update your shoes and keep these out of your wardrobe. Go for fun shoes. Open-toe shoes, sling backs, pointed toe shoes – these are the winners! Stick with the winners! :)
Bulky or “too big” clothing- we ALL have a shape. Accentuate what you have and give yourself permission to live in the body that God gave you. It’s beautiful in every season of life. Let me teach you how to maximize your waist, lengthen your look, and more!
Here are some “keepers” too:
Black semi Cocktail dress- Yes. You need a black semi cocktail dress. It’s really a great investment. You can dress it up or down and add to it or take away from this basic piece. There are multiple options here. Let me show you how to work this into your wardrobe BEAUTIFULLY!
Throw you a blazer or cardigan on, and this is the perfect day dress. If you have a nice function to go to then just a great pair of heels and jewelry.
Dark wide leg trouser- Did you know that you can streamline the bottom half of your body by adding a darker trouser?
Add volume up top- You can add volume to the top part of your body with ruffle and horizontal stripes. Don’t be afraid to venture into this!
When you look better you feel better!
Texture- Texture is a A+ in my book! Add texture into your skirt/pants and contrast it with shine in the top that you wear. It’s a catchy combo!
All eyes here–Bring the eye to your waist. Whatever else you do, make sure that you accentuate your waist. Think that you “don’t have a waist”? Not true. Let me show you how to love your body again. I’ve helped woman after woman find ways to dress that make them feel like a woman again… not like Mom… like a woman. :) She’s still in there. Don’t forget that!
One final note to leave you with-
Curves are beautiful. God made our bodies to carry life, ladies. That means they will change over the years. It’s part of our design. When you dress what you and FEEL GOOD for that moment, you’ll find that you create MORE positive change to the body you’ve been given.
You are worth this, ladies. Call me and let’s have fun finding and/or celebrating “You” again.
