I love color and I love mixing my colors even more. Summer is here and as much as I enjoy wearing black I enjoy going wild and crazy with my colors.
Recently, I wrote a blog post about how to mix and match your colors. Now I want to show you first hand exactly how to do this.

I bought my purple pants from Ann Taylor Loft 2 year ago. My blouse came from a boutique in Destin, Florida 2 years ago for $9.99.
By the way, purple and orange are a great color block combo.
Excuse the silly selfie. It was bright outside.
There is no purple in my blouse, only like colors. Like colors means they are in the same color family. Violet was one of my like colors to go with purple.
I also have fun mixing up my prints. Love these shoes I bought from Aldo 5yrs ago. Always take care of your shoes ladies. Pumps will always be a hot item in fashion.
Totally different outfit but same concept. I found the like color that has the pop to it and added my blazer to help it stand out a little more. Salmon and Red.
Hope this helps with your color blocking or popping.
Wonderful colors! I absolutely adore the orange top and violet trousers and shoes. Popping with color is a great fashion tip. People can be scared of colorful clothes but once you try there is no turning back. I like to wear a sand colored shift dress with a large multicolored bead necklace. It’s super stylish and really stands out without being garish.
Thanks Jane, I think a little color can add a lot to a simple wardrobe.
I love your color combinations! The purple pants really make the orange shirt pop. I would never have thought of combining those two particular items because of the shirt not having purple – only like colors. I’ve learned something new! :-)
Awww.. thanks Caitlin, As long as you are not overdoing it with a lot of colors mixing up like colors is fun and another way to color block.
