Being pregnant is a blessing but it can be a fashion curse! Honestly though, pregnant women can rock the fashion forward styles just as well as anyone, both before and after that sweet little blessing arrives.

Let’s get out of the pre-baby fashion baby blues and jump into an easy pregnancy style.

Up-Size

Always buy a little bigger size when it comes to your pre pregnancy weight and after your pregnancy. That way you can wear your pants two to three months during and after your pregnancy.

Remember, you can always have these things altered.

Skirts

Skirts are great to incorporate into your after baby wardrobe. Find the skirts that are pleated they hide what little tummy you still have.

Make sure that they are altered just above the knee.

Stretch

Use my tips like rolling up your blazer or jacket sleeves to elongate you.

This will make you look tall and lean. I always say fool the eye. The same goes with your jeans.

Wear a soft colored heel like camel or neutral flat if you are not comfortable wearing heels. A pointed toe always helps, too. This will make you look thinner and taller.

Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses with adjustable straps are great staples.

You can throw on a cardigan, blazer or a blousy top with a skinny belt around the waist and this will hide that unwanted baby weight.

Stay in Those Pants

If you want to stay in your pre-pregnancy pants for as long as possible, just tie a rubber band around the button-hole and wear a blousy top and heels.

But this also depends on where you have gained your weight. If you have gained in your hips then buy a slightly larger pant and then have them altered when you lose weight.

Don’t try to squeeze in your clothes. Remember, you will lose the weight! Do not get discouraged.

Jackets

A structured jacket is always a great item to invest in. Wear with your favorite skirt, dress, or jeans that you are still wearing after baby.

This would be something like a blazer or cotton fitted jacket that cinches at the waist.

Hide the Tummy

Find dresses that flatter your waist. Meaning dresses that have a band, cinching or ruching at the waist line. This will hide your tummy.

And make sure the band, ruching or belt is above your natural waistline. Use those layers too.

Also, throw on your Spanx and a good bra. There is nothing wrong with getting a little extra help.

And, remember ladies, this will pass and don’t ever feel like you can’t have style before and after having that sweet blessing.

So embrace the new you and your new gorgeous body. You probably already have most of these items in your closet.

Forget those baby blues and strap on your new pre and post baby style.
