Off the runway styles can be a bit extreme and somewhat costly, even when they are transformed to wearable styles.
We’re all for getting ready for fall and winter fashion, but we all want to get extra mileage out of our investments. This is why I am a firm believer of wearing pieces year round.
So many designers allow you the versatility of wearing seasonal styles. For example – pastels, leather, pointed toe pumps, midi skirts, just to name a few, can make it easy to pull off seasonal fashions.
All it takes is a little style savvy and an open mind.
Here are 6 ways to re-work items you already own. With the cash you save, you can actually afford to go out in the outfit.
These are a hot item not only for spring, but can really bring your fall/winter styles to life and keep you warm. The light layers add instant polish to any outfit.
Keep it in rotation come spring by thinking of it as a cardigan or blazer instead of a coat.
Leather or Faux Leather
Anything leather is fantastic for fending off the chill in winter, but when you think of leather you might not think of wearing this gorgeous material year round.
Well, don’t fret ladies, not only is leather a hot item for the fall you can find ways to wear this fantastic all year. A sleeveless dress or a-line skirt packs a serious style punch without the threat of heat exhaustion, just keep extras light and choose thinner pieces.
A Little Bit of Sequins
Sequins can really add a pop of fun to your style. You can pull out your favorite sequin cardigan or blouse.
Have fun working it in with your seasonal styles. Besides, I have noticed that there tends to be a spike in the number of sequin pieces we purchase around the holidays.
Rather than stowing them for 11 months of the year, bust them out during the summer as an alternative to your leather or denim jackets.
A Pointed Pump
I know, this sounds simple, but all the more reason to have a few of these in your closet. A pump is an item in your wardrobe that is the perfect transitional piece for all seasons keep it classic because this is the only shoe you need to wear.
A nude pump would be my personal favorite for so many reasons, but you can always invest in a color and or print for an added pop of style.
Pastels are the perfect way to enter each season with style. Just add your favorite color pastel to make this color an easy transition.
The perfect fit and style for everyone. These can definitely be worn year around.
There are plenty of different ways to wear the midi skirt. The key to easy seasonal transition is keeping it polished and adding or taking away light layers.
The best thing about fall and winter is that you can still wear all your warm-weather items. It’s all about layering and finding styles or trends that work best for you.
Stop and think about what you have in your closet and what you may or may not need to add to your style this season. Have fun being creative with your style, do your research simply by visiting your favorite department stores, reading style magazines, or maybe even your favorite fashion blog sites.
Either way, save yourself time and money when it comes to fashion transitions and most of all be sure not to pack away your summer pieces.
