Sorry I’m so late on my latest fashion 411’s, we have had some technical difficulties in the Handey house. It’s called a computer on the fritz, not good for this Southern Fashionista, not good at all.

I have so much to update you lovely ladies on.

First and foremost, let’s talk about Styles for Smiles Fashion Show hosted by Bill and Giuliana Rancic.

Through this fundraiser, I met an amazing couple and their daughter Abby who was just precious. Abby’s mom was one of the makeovers featured in the show.

I can tell you from personal experience that these families deserve all the love that is given through this organization. I truly enjoyed getting to meet Abby and her family, such sweet spirits.

Here is a video of my little super model.

Stephanie Lambert, owner of Born, a clothing boutique in Montgomery, Alabama and a sponsor of the event, asked my little Dill pickle to debut in his first runway modeling gig/future career. Or possibly comedian, it’s all in how you perceive this vivacious four-year old.

At the end of the runway awaiting Dill was Giuliana and Bill Rancic, the emcees for the night! Yes, I’m living my dream thanks to Stephanie and my future fashion model/comedian or maybe the best Bill Rancic.

Well, I certainly had conspired with some friends on how to get my picture made with them to which they responded, not in a million years? I interpreted that as, what a perfect opportunity for Mrs. Fashionista.

Can I tell you, I love Giuliana. I have been wanting to go to this event for some time now.

You know how you have those crappy months, weeks, or heck even a year for some and you pray that God shows you a sign, not a small sign, a big neon in your face kind of sign so you know he’s talking to you. Yes, I’m one of those.

I really need an in your face sign. Well, ladies and gents I got that sign and I jumped on it! I was so ecstatic that Steph asked Dill to be in the fashion show.

Honesty, I needed it, that was my sign. I certainly had thoughts of oh maybe I can somehow work my way in and meet these two amazing people.

Yes, I was dreaming ladies, but I did think to myself, Laura if you have to use your son as a pawn to just say hello to them than by golly you do it. Yes, I was that excited!

I’m not using the word obsessed, but major fan for sure. So when the going gets tough rely on God, take those signs and run with them.

Ladies, I was literally in the same room with them. I know this doesn’t mean a lot to some of you, but be patient and understand that all of us have things and people in our lives that make us happy and this was it for me!!!

They had the nicest and the cutest security guard who was so sweet to all the kids. I am such a dork, but he was talking to Dill and giving him high fives and so I bent over and said, (insert awkwardness) “Gosh, I would love to get my picture made with them.”

Can we say awkward!!! I thought for sure he blew me off. I leave my child and get ready to watch his debut, but I didn’t want to leave quite yet so I snuck around the corner and kept watching from a far as they were moving.

Just as I thought oh my, the sweet security guy can see me and they are about to say get that chick outta here, time literally froze for me folks, I looked up and saw Bill and Guiliana with him.

Big smiles on their faces along with that sweet, did I mention hot, security guard (wish I knew his name) and they motioned for me on the stage.  If you all know me, I have never been speechless…yes, I had so much to say, but I was dripping sweat from head to toe.

I managed to get my picture taken, but of course regretted that I didn’t ask or tell them things I wanted to. I was also bummed I didn’t get Dill in the picture, but he got to walk the stage and high-five Bill, that’s pretty cool.

Ladies, I beat myself up over and over about what I should have done or said, but then I looked back on it and thought you know what, God will always give me this memory to have and to share. I’m so proud of myself and I am even more proud of my Dill.

He did such a great job! Jeffery reminded me when I got home that Stephanie was also who I was with when I met Ali Landry. Big thanks to Stephanie with Born, you made my night!

I can officially say, I lived one of my fashion dreams. And let me tell you, B and G are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. I am sure they are like that in their off camera life as well, very humble.

So, if G and B ever read my blog (a girl can dream) thank you so much for being so kind to this Southern Fashionista and her budding model/comedian. Also, if security guy is single I have some cute southern girlfriends ;)

Praise God for that night and for that cause.  Please be sure to visit justkeepsmiling.org.
