I was so thrilled to meet Susan! She literally called me on Tuesday and booked me to come on that following Saturday.
Susan was such a breath of fresh air, very bubbly, kind, and amazingly gorgeous. As soon as I walked into her unbelievably gorgeous home…my dream home…and met her sweet husband, I knew this was going to be a wonderful day of styling.
Susan is a mom, wife, and 8:00 to 5:00, sometimes later, working women who just didn’t have time to shop or much less wanted to. I can’t say that I blame her.
Her closets were full of clothes, some new, some old, some that she was hanging on to like we all do in hopes of maybe wearing it one day. Yes, we all do this ladies, even I can be guilty at times.
In comes Centsibly Southern, we went through four closets and we found some amazing styles for her. I showed her how to take those clothes and make them fun, stylish, workable for day (professional wear) and night while keeping them age appropriate.
The remainder of her unwanted clothing we cleaned out of those closets and donated. This is so important. Give those unwanted clothes a new home, it’s not only a good way to clean up and revamp your life, it’s a great to help someone in need.
Enjoy Susan’s fun new style and see how I took her simple clothes and made them super chic!
Susan is just gorgeous, I wanted to show her how to style her shape.
Focusing on your shape, and not your weight or height is what’s important when it comes to your overall style. Work your wardrobe around your body and shape.
For example: My goal was to elongate Susan’s midsection to create the illusion of a smaller waist, which is the main focus for all shapes and sizes.
Now to Styling
Mixing prints and colors are a great way to add fun style.
I love a fun print. I wanted to show Susan how to change this gorgeous leopard printed dress up simply by adding color and layers.
This is such a cute pic…Sorry Susan I had to post. This is what it’s like when I come to your home ladies….all smiles and giggles.
I love this green leather jacket. We just made it part of her dress by buttoning it up and giving her shape. Then added a fun burgundy scarf for color.
Here we did the same thing defining her shape just by belting the scarf around her waist.
I love incorporating ever bit of your wardrobe in with your style..including your blazer/jackets and cardigans.
This is how you incorporate that fun jacket in with your wardrobe. Add a belt!
I went style crazy with this gorgeous red dress that Susan had. See how many ways I changed it up.
Love the ankle boots!
Gave her a little more definition just by adding a skinny belt and a fun velvet blazer.
Sometimes we have those blouses that we just don’t know what to do with. See how we took these fun blouses from simple to chic.
If you are going to wear a fitted jean/pencil skirt be sure to wear a loose blouse to balance out your body type.
Loose blouses are actually quite flattering when worn with skinny jeans because they help counteract the tightness around the legs.
Once again, loose blouse tucked in a fitted skirt.
Fitted blouse and loose skirt the same concept as the loose blouse and fitted pant.
This is a great way to add some fun style to a simple dress.
The peplum look is a great look on all shape and sizes.
Adding jewelry/jackets/scarves etc…is a fun and simple way to make a style pop.
Day to night.
Susan wasn’t sure how to wear this loose Tunic. Once again, fitted at the bottom loose at the top.
Added this off white leather jacket for an edgy look.
I am so excited to show you this dress/outfit. The great thing about what I do is I literally try to make your wardrobe stylish and workable. Even problematic or questionable clothes, I will get them to work.
Susan was not thrilled about this dress. Sometimes when we buy items of clothing we bring it home and just can’t figure out how to wear it. Maybe the fits not right or maybe the colors not right, either way don’t get rid of it too quickly.
Check out how I took this questionable dress to stylish and sassy. Susan is ready for a night out on the town.
This is just a fun way to mix prints…
Another way to wear your suit blazers…
Susan was having a hard time finding out how to wear this gorgeous mustard blazer, mainly because of it’s cut.
So I put it with more of a fitted item of clothing, like a fitted dress and it gave this jacket a fun, new, wearable style.
Color blocking with a purple dress…
Thanks again Susan!
